Number of Colors
A screen is created for each color and each color is applied separately in the process.
Number of Locations
Each location is run separately. If there are multiple locations, the garment or item goes through the screen printing process multiple times. Locations can include full front, full back, front left chest, left sleeve, locker tag (back yoke), etc.
Light vs. Dark Apparel
Dark colored apparel needs an underlayment layer before other colors can be added. Otherwise it can be difficult to see the design. Also, light colors screen printed onto dark apparel often needs multiple ‘hits’. As a result, there is more ink and time on the press.
Price of the Garment Selected
There are thousands of garments to choose whether you’re on a tight budget or looking for high quality name brand apparel. Often adult sizes up to XL are one price, and there’s an upcharge for larger sizes.
Quantity
The quantity and number of colors determines which press will be used. Smaller orders (less than 36 pieces) will often be run on our manual press where the printer manually drags the heavy duty squeegee across the screen to apply the ink. While larger orders are run on our automatic press which is more efficient thus reducing the cost to you.
